Before joining Pomfret, Will Mitchell ’84 was the Director of Advancement at St. Andrew’s School in Delaware. Prior to St. Andrew’s, Will spent ten years at St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire. He lives on campus with his wife, Kathy. Together, they have (not one) but two sets of twins.

Mariam Aghayan is a first-generation immigrant from Yerevan, Armenia. She is a graduate of The Fletcher School and Gettysburg College, with degrees in Law and Diplomacy (MA) and Political Science and Public Policy (BA). Mariam is a Major Gifts Officer at Pomfret School. Mariam’s background as an immigrant and direct descendant of survivors of the Armenian Genocide have ingrained her passion for human rights. She has implemented five international grants (two Andrew W. Mellon grants in Morocco and Greece, one Project for Peace grant in Armenia, a State Department Diplomacy Lab grant in Hungary, and a Tisch International Fellow grant in Armenia) all dealing with various aspects of human rights. She interned with the Permanent Mission of Armenia to the United Nations, both at Headquarters in New York and at the Offices in Geneva. Mariam has a daughter, Arev. Both mother and daughter are trilingual (Armenian, Russian, and English).

Kerry Anderson brings over 15 years of experience in project management, branding and graphic design to her role as Stewardship and Donor Relations Manager in Pomfret’s Advancement Office. She has worked with a wide range of clients, from multinational corporations to regional businesses both in the US and in Switzerland. She spent almost 10 years at St. Georges School as a faculty spouse and 12 more years in a variety of roles at day schools in Lancaster and Philadelphia, PA. Kerry holds a BFA in Communications Design from Syracuse University. Her husband, Peter, is the Director of Admissions Operations at Pomfret and they have two children, Adelynn and Chase. They live on campus with their dog, Sunny.

Beth joined Pomfret School’s Advancement Office in 2015. Prior to joining Pomfret, she worked in the Advancement Office at the Governor’s Academy. Beth holds a B.A. in communications from Worcester State University. She lives in Pomfret with her husband, Garry, and their two children.

Nicole has recently joined the Pomfret School Advancement office and is thrilled to take on the role as the Gifts Administrator. Nicole graduated from Westfield State University in 2013 with a B.S. in Regional Planning and a concentration in Environmental Science. She has over 5 years experience working in Accounts Receivable for a construction dealership. She resides in North Grosvenordale with her husband, Phil, dog and cat. In her spare time she enjoys baking, cooking, & a variety of activities such as walking, hiking, yoga, etc.

Originally from Tinton Falls, New Jersey, Elizabeth joined Pomfret School after working 5 consecutive years at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and 1 year at the University of Rhode Island. She is a 2014 graduate of Johnson & Wales University where she was a sports/entertainment/event management major. Elizabeth is very passionate about building relationships, engaging with constituents and making an impact. Currently Elizabeth is working in the advancement department on the Pomfret Fund. Her personal interests include photography, cooking, cycling, yoga, reading and traveling. Some of her favorite travel destinations are Marthas Vineyard, Spain and Italy.

Johanna has worked at Pomfret since 2015 serving first as a major gift officer and most recently managing the annual giving program and team. Prior to joining Pomfret Johanna worked in various advancement roles at Tufts University and St. Mark's School. Johanna lives in Worcester, MA with her husband.

With experience directing events in both corporate and non-profit settings, Kathy is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing Pomfret School’s signature events. Kathy holds a BA in business management and marketing from Cornell University. Over the course of her career, Kathy has directed events for up to 2,000 people, including weddings, golf events, and conferences for Marriott International; led a team of events directors and coordinators in executing fundraising events for cystic fibrosis research; led event management for Colby-Sawyer College, and most recently worked as director of events at St. Andrew’s School in Middletown, Delaware. Kathy lives on campus with her husband, Will. With her four children (two sets of twins!) all in college, Kathy is finding more time to enjoy tennis and her two english labrador retrievers, Luna and Milo.

Debby Thurston joined the Advancement staff in September 2002. As Database Administrator and Advancement Assistant, Debby is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Advancement database, assisting with alumni communications and stewardship, coordinating alumni class notes, and providing general assistance to the Advancement staff.
