To celebrate the launch of Amplify: The Campaign For Pomfret School, Pomfret teamed up with Emmy-Award winning video production company Timber + Frame to make a short documentary about three contemporary Pomfret students, told in their own words.

In the film, we meet MK, the star goalkeeper of the girls varsity soccer team; Kaya, an athlete turned actor; and Linda, an emerging leader who doubts if she is ready to lead.

As their stories unfold, they cast a light on the transformative power of the Pomfret Experience, ultimately revealing the ties that bind the students of today with the generations of alumni who came before them.

“There is a big difference between fitting in and belonging. At Pomfret, I never felt like I had to pretend to be someone else — it was the greatest feeling. Right from the start, I felt like I belonged. Every day I would wake up and think: I’m here because I want to be here.”

“My freshman year, fear ruled my life. I wouldn’t talk in class. I was afraid of what other people thought of me. I wouldn’t speak up for myself. I didn’t use my voice. I don’t know what I was scared of. But now, four years later, I know one thing: I’m not afraid anymore.”

“I came to Pomfret because I wanted to experience something different. If I had stayed at home, I would have gone to high school with people who were just like me. But I wanted something more. I wanted to be challenged. We’re navigating prep school. It’s not easy, but it has changed my life.”
